Solution:

Follow these steps to reconfigure your scanner settings:

  1. Trigger the Scanner

    • Go to the vending machine and initiate a product purchase.
This action activates the scanner and prepares it to receive barcode commands.

  2. Scan the Setup Sequence Barcodes

    • Step-by-Step Scanning:

    • Ensure you are using the printed barcode sheet provided by your scanner manufacturer or support team.

  • Scan the “Enter Setup” barcode
This puts the scanner in configuration mode.

  • Scan the “Disable All Symbologies” barcode
This clears out any existing barcode formats to prevent conflicts.

  • Scan the “Enable PDF417” barcode
This re-enables the correct barcode format used on most government-issued IDs.

  • Scan the “Exit Setup” barcode
This saves your changes and exits the configuration mode.

After Completion:

  • Reinitiate a product purchase.

  • Try scanning an ID with a double barcode to confirm that it’s now working correctly.
