Troubleshooting Guide: Network & Connectivity Issues

1. Check APK Version

  • Action: Look at the bottom right of your machine.

  • What to Check: Ensure the APK version is 1.84 or higher.

2. Determine Connection Type

  • WiFi or Wireless Modem?

--> If Using WiFi: Connect your VTM to WiFi

    • Check WiFi antenna: Ensure it's on.

    • Ensure WiFi is enabled: Disable Ethernet.

    • Tip: A password-protected WiFi network (with fewer connected devices) provides a more stable connection than an open network.

    • If WiFi is Connected but Not Working: Try logging into a browser. There may be a firewall or security checkpoint blocking access.

--> If Using Wireless: Connect your VTM to Wireless

3. If WiFi Can't Connect

  • Possible Issue: The network may not be compatible.

  • Solution: Switch to a different network or upgrade to a wireless modem (available on our website).

4. Test With a Hotspot

  • Action: Use your phone as a hotspot to check if the machine connects.

5. Temporary Offline Mode

  • If the hotspot works, the machine will automatically update.

  • Action: Disable WiFi and use the machine offline until a better network or wireless device is available.

6. Why Portal Changes Aren't Showing on the Machine

  • All settings updated in the VapeTM portal — including enabling/disabling aisles, updating screensavers and ads, changing prices, and software settings — are pushed to the machine remotely.

  • If the machine is offline, none of these changes will reach it. The machine will continue running with whatever settings it had when it last connected.

  • Once the machine comes back online, all pending changes will sync automatically — no action needed on your end.

  • If a specific setting still isn't updating after the machine is back online, try rebooting the machine to trigger a fresh sync.

Key Takeaway: A stable connection is essential. If WiFi issues persist, consider using a wireless modem.
